Our Beliefs

The Bible

All Scripture is divinely inspired of God. The Holy Bible is God’s revelation to mankind. We believe that God not only Inspired every word, but that He also preserved every word through the ages. We believe the King James Bible to be the preserved Word of God for the English Speaking people. – II Timothy 3:16, II Peter 1:21

God

One God eternally exists in three Persons: Father, Son, & Holy Spirit. – Matthew 3:16-17, II Corinthians13:14, I John 5:7
Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of virgin Mary and is true God and True Man. – Matthew 1:18-23, John 1:1,14

The Fall of Man

Man was created in the image of God; man sinned, and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also the spiritual death which is separation from God; and all human beings are born with a sin nature because of Adam’s sin. Genesis 1:26; 2:16, Romans 5:12

Salvation

Christ died for our sins as a substitutionary sacrifice, and all who believe in Him are justified by his shed blood. – John 3:16, Romans 5:1; 5:8 & 9, I Timothy 2:5, Hebrews 9:11-15, 27-28

The crucified body of our Lord was resurrected from the dead; He ascended into Heaven and is there our intercessor. – Matthew 28:6, I Corinthians 15:4, Acts 1:9, Romans 8:34, Hebrews 7:25

The personal, premillenial, pretribulational return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, is imminent. – John 14:2, Acts 1:11, Revelation 4:1

Salvation is by grace through faith alone in the finished work of Christ. – Ephesians 2:8 & 9, John 6:47, Revelation 3:20

All believers are baptized into the True Body by the Holy Spirit and are set apart to a holy walk. – I Corinthians 1:30, I Corinthians 12:13, Ephesians 2:10, I Peter 1:14-19

All true believers, having been born into the family of God, are possessors of everlasting life, shall never perish and are eternally secure. – I Peter 1:3-5, John 10:28-29

The bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust is certain, the everlasting blessedness of the saved and everlasting punishment of the lost. I Thessalonians 4:13-18, Revelation 20:11-15, John 5:28-29

The Local Church

The church began with the calling out of the twelve apostles by Jesus Christ and was empowered on the day of Pentecost. As an Independent Baptist Church, we are governed by God and His Word. We believe the local church is God’s only institution to carry out His work today. We believe the local church is composed of members who have been saved and baptized according to the command of Christ. (Matthew 16:16-18; Acts 1:15; Acts 2:41-43)

Immersion is the only scriptural mode of baptism and is for believers only. – Romans 6:3-4, Acts 8:36-38

The Lord’s Supper is a commemoration of His death until He comes, and is to be celebrated periodically. – Luke 22:17-20, I Corinthians 11:23-30

Conduct

As children of the Lord, we should endeavor, by God’s grace to live a consistent Christian life and refrain from worldliness and conduct ourselves in such a way as not to be a stumblingblock. -Romans 12:1-2, Colossians 3:1-17, Romans 14:12-13

Human Sexuality

We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman. We believe that any form of homosexuality, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, fornication, adultery, and pornography are sinful perversions of Gods gift of sex. Any employee of the church, as well as any person in a position of leadership, becoming pregnant or causing pregnancy as a result of consensual intercourse, outside of the marriage relationship, shall be terminated from employment or their position. Further, any employee of the church or any person in a position of leadership within the church that is involved in the activities outlined in this section, shall be terminated or relieved of their position. (Genesis 2:24, 19:5 & 13, 26:8-9; Leviticus 18:1-30; Romans 1:26-29; I Corinthians 5:1, 6-9; I Thessalonians 4:1-8; Hebrews 13:4).

We believe that the only legitimate marriage is the joining of one man and one woman. (Genesis 2:24; Romans 7:2; I Corinthians 7:10; Ephesians 5:22-23).

We believe that men and women are spiritually equal in position before God but that God has ordained distinct and separate spiritual functions for men and women in the home and the church. The husband is to be the leader of the home and men are to be the leaders (pastors and deacons) of the church. Accordingly, only men are eligible for licensure and ordination by the church (Galatians 3:28; Colossians 3:18; I Timothy 2:8-15, 3:4-5 & 12).
